“According to Sun Prairie Fire & Rescue officials, an automobile and a commercial semi truck collided on I-90 westbound close to mile marker 132 on Sunday just before 10 a.m.

The Sun Prairie crew reported a sedan with substantial damage and a semi inverted on the median, both with heavy damage, less than a mile from the event Sunday morning, according to officials. The team had just put out a truck fire nearby.

The automobile was rear-ended by the semi truck, which was also moving northbound, as it approached slower traffic. Before crossing the northbound lanes and slamming through the cement median barrier, the lorry made a left turn.

The lorry then turned around and came to a stop in the I-39’s southbound lanes. Because of the debris on the highway, Wisconsin State Patrol had to close both the westbound and eastbound lanes.
The 35-year-old semi-truck driver was able to get out of the car. He was taken by Sun Prairie Ambulance and received treatment for minor wounds.

According to authorities, Madison Medics at the site pronounced the 59-year-old sedan driver from Elkhorn, Wisconsin dead owing to injuries sustained in the collision.

The disclosed report states that the debris caused the accident to cause damage to numerous more automobiles.

The State Police are looking into the collision.”
