TOOELE COUNTY, Utah — Two semi-trucks crashed on westbound Interstate 80, sending one person to the hospital in critical condition.
According to Sgt. Cameron Roden of the Utah Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 2 a.m. Friday just over 40 miles from the border between Utah and Nevada.
The driver of the first truck was not hurt, but the driver of the second truck was in critical condition and had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. One truck was carrying parts for cars, and the other was hauling wheat.
Westbound I-80 traffic is expected to be rerouted until noon while workers look into what happened and clean up. Roden said that traffic is being turned around at exit 41 and can get back on at the same exit.
UHP said that they are still looking into what caused the crash.
