Two counts of second-degree felony sexual abuse of a child and one case of first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child were filed against Darcy Anderson on Monday by the Parowan Police Department.

According to Cedar City News, Iron County Attorney Chad Dotson said an investigation was launched after reports of sexual assault were reported to authorities. Dotson stated that the Children’s Justice Center was where law officers spoke with the victim.

Dotson claimed that “disclosures were made in those interviews.” “Following that, further inquiry was conducted, and Mr. Anderson was interviewed.”
Dotson claims that Anderson “made remarks that corroborated what was revealed in the Children’s Justice Center interviews” during his interview with investigators.
“At this time, we feel we have enough evidence to charge and prosecute.”
Dotson further noted that the Iron County Attorney’s office gives cases involving child abuse high priority.
He described these cases as “among the most significant and critical” being handled by the County Attorney’s office. We are prepared to devote substantial resources to seeing that justice is served in this matter.
On Monday, police took Anderson into custody and transported him to the Iron County Jail.
The St. George Police Department is also looking into a fraud case in which Anderson is suspected of utilizing around $150,000 for his own benefit.
An investor reportedly gave Anderson the money on the condition that he would form a limited liability business named Waterpocket Fold, as stated in a probable cause statement submitted in support of the prosecution. The investor was promised a stake of 15–20% in the business.
Anderson allegedly spent $34,000 “without any accounting of how the monies were business-related” and then deposited the remaining $120,000 into a new company in exchange for a 10% share interest.
The Waterpocket Fold LLC checking account at State Bank of Southern Utah revealed a number of cash withdrawals, checks written to Anderson, and costs for food, gas, lodging, and internet access.
