A pilot from Tupelo, Mississippi has made a threat to crash their plane into a Walmart. Mississippi law enforcement has established communication with the pilot.
Authorities in Tupelo, Mississippi issued a warning early Saturday morning that a pilot flying a tiny plane over the city had made a threat to crash into a Walmart.
A pilot flying an airplane described as being of the “King Air type” reportedly informed the Tupelo Police Department about 5 a.m. today that he was contemplating making an emergency landing near the Walmart that is located on West Main street.
The authorities have established that the aircraft in question is a multi-engine, fixed-wing Beech C90A model from 1987. It is assumed that the aircraft was stolen.
In an effort to spread out the crowd “as much as is practically possible,” the authorities claimed they had to evacuate the Walmart as well as a Dodges restaurant and a gas station that were located nearby the retail mall.
Local news indicates that roads in west Tupelo and near the airport have been reopened, and that the pilot was last seen flying in the general vicinity of a Toyota facility in Blue Springs, which is located in the area northeast of Tupelo.

According to the police department, they are in communication with the pilot who works at the Tupelo Regional Airport.

The warning was initially issued by the Tupelo Police department. Governor Tate Reeves took to Twitter to disseminate the information and stated that “State law enforcement and emergency managers are actively watching this dangerous scenario.”
“Every resident in Tupelo should be on the lookout and informed of any new information from the Tupelo Police Department,” he continued.
It is not quite clear what the pilot’s motivation is at this point.
